Thornton School, a fond memory
      ........ Mu ch of life in Thornton revolved around the school, and the focus of Thornton children from elementary through the twelfth grade centered on that stately twostory red brick building with white columns and Greek-type portal. It became a familiar sight to each student as he or she walked to school or stepped off the old yellow bus.
