A possible glitch in the county’s efforts to win a longterm contract for federal inmates at the Limestone County Detention Center was revealed at Monday’s commissioners court meeting. The Justice Department has modified the requirements of the contract to specify that the beds at the prison must have been in place by March of last year. Commissioner William “Pete” Kirven asked LCDC Warden and Administrator Mike Sutton whether he had an update on the CAR-XV contract, the name for the longterm contract the county has been competing for, for over a year.
