Commissioners court not interested in housing illegal kids

Limestone County commissioners court heard – but quickly rejected – a suggestion at their July 14 meeting to offer the federal government the Limestone County Detention Center as a place to house the overfl ow of illegal alien minors from the Mexican border. Commissioner William “Pete” Kirven suggested the county consider pursuing this option for the LCDC, the county-owned prison, since the facility has been empty over a year as county officials search for inmates to fi ll the prison again.
