Special for the Journal Before this time next week, half of the year will be over and we’ll be on the down side of the year. The only thing that bothers me about this is we still have the hottest part of the year to go through. No rain, everything tries to dry up unless you can keep water pumping to it. We’ll be struggling to pay both the water and electric bills at the same time. The bright side of this is we don’t have to panic because God will see us through, no problem.

It’s about to get hot, and I for one have decided to enjoy every day, hot or cold, for at this age we may not see very many more seasons. Take each day as a blessing that God has given! We had a super week at our center, I got to deliver “Meals On Wheels” this week while Scott Ray was recuperating from surgery. I really enjoy visiting a few minutes with everyone and seeing how much things change since last visit.

We got a really nice shower while at the Baptist Church this morning. We have thunder and rain, then it cleared off and was a very pretty day. It is 5p.m. now and looks like rain again. We could use some more rain. I put a rose out at Rodgers grave and went yesterday to the cemetery and watered it. I felt like I would need to water it again in a day or two but now, thanks to the rain, I can wait for a few more days. I planted some bluebonnet seeds on the grave with many of them coming up and a few are blooming.

We had a beautiful week and things went well at work. Ms. Johnson worked while I went to Lubbock to move my brother to Temple. My family gives thanks for the V.A. Home in Temple where my brother is moving. It is a new home and it seems everyone is treated great. (because veterans deserve it). I pray he loves this change.
