Groesbeck Masonic Lodge #354 observed Texas Public Schools week with GISD

Groesbeck Masonic Lodge #354

Members of the Groesbeck Masonic Lodge #354 visited Enge Washington and H.O. Whitehurst School in observance of Texas Public Schools week. They first attended a community breakfast provided by the school district where students sang patriotic Texas songs, then they heard a presentation by Dr. Ramm, Superintendent,on the status of Groesbeck ISD. This was followed by a visit to the H.O Whitehurst campus where the Masons passed out "Fantastic Teeth" dental health kits to the first graders. These kits are for the kids to use in care of their teeth and instruction was given as to how to use the kits. The Masons wish to thank Dr. Ramm, Mrs. Leah Hardison, Mrs La Dena King, and Mrs. Becky Wilson for their hospitality.

Groesbeck Study Club holds meeting

The Groesbeck Study Club had its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 7pm at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club. The devotional was given by Linda Barker. It was called Earth Angel. A woman had two carved angels with only one wing each. She gave it to a friend of hers and kept the other one explaining that they would need to hold on to each other for them both to be able to fly. It’s called the “one wing concept”. We all need to embrace this concept. We are unable to do anything without the help of our Heavenly Father.

Cynthia Ann Garden Club’s Annual Pilgrimage

Thursday, February 25th, nineteen club members of the Cynthia Ann Garden Club and guests traveled to Bonnie’s Greenhouse, 5198 Orchard Lane in Waco for their annual pilgrimage. Shortly after arriving at the Greenhouse, the manager gave a short program on how to prepare “Fairy Gardens”. Naturally, the fun of touring all the buildings with all kinds of beautiful and exotic plants came next. Quite a few of the ladies left with many of the beautiful plants.

Participating in primaries vital to political process

Limestone County, Texas Texans, it’s time to vote! Limestone County Farm Bureau is encouraging everyone to take the time to cast their ballots in the March 1 Republican or Democratic primaries. “Primary elections decide the candidates we will see on ballots in November,” Bill Ward, Limestone County Farm Bureau president, said. “If you don’t vote, there’s a chance the candidate you prefer won’t make it out of the primary.”

Limestone Cancer Support Groups to hold fi rst organizational meeting

Limestone Cancer Support Group invites anyone interested in showing support or becoming a volunteer to help the new organization at its first meeting. That meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 7, at the Mexia Lions Club, 201 N. Paris St. in Mexia. The group is intended to help Limestone County residents who are dealing with cancer by trying to make life a bit easier during a trying time.

Dedication Ceremony Held For Clara Noelle Polino

Sunday, January 31, 2016 was a historic day as baby Clara Noelle Polino was dedicated to Christ at Prairie Hill Baptist Church by her great grandfather,Pastor Fred Sain. Presented by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Polino, Clara joined her father, Stephen, and grandmother, Cindy Polino in being dedicated by Pastor Sain in his 66 years as Pastor of the Church.
