Lady Goats Golf team for the win

TEAGUE – The Groesbeck girls golf team could not have asked for better weather during the two-day district tournament at Tri-County Golf Club.
Light breezes and warm temperatures kept scores down and spirits high as the Lady Goats (487-453 940) won the District 18-4A tournament last Monday and Tuesday. With championship trophy in hand, the team qualified for the regional tournament, held earlier this week at Raven’s Nest in Huntsville.
Leading the charge to first was senior Sky Loper, whose two-day total of (114-103 217) was good enough to earn the silver medal. Senior Sarah Jones carded a (122-105 227) for fourth place, while Kealan Beevers (126-126 252), Madison Masters (125-119 244), and MacKenzie Erskine (130-134 264) rounded out the district champions.
