      The Buffalo Livestock Auction held its weekly livestock auction on Saturday, August 28. Total head sold were 2291; total head last sale was 2144. There were 316 sellers and 62 buyers. Excessive aflatoxin levels found in most Central Texas cornfields
      Some Central Texas corn producers are abandoning or plowing under corn crops because of excessively high aflatoxin levels, but as of last Friday, no cases had been officially reported in Limestone County.

Keep watering gardens, lawns to keep alive
GREEN THUMB
      Same old hot weather. Maybe we will get rain soon. Vegetables are still producing, tomatoes have slowed down some. Peppers are still producing along with okra. Folks are really pouring the water to yard grass and keeping it green. Some pumpkins are up but don’t stop watering and keep on putting a spoonful of slow released fertilizer on each hill.
