Another busy week. Sophia, 13 years, was with me all week and Beth, daughter, was in and out from Kingwood. It makes me wish I was forty again with all that energy, good knees etc. But it's not here. I am happy to be where I am at this time and in this place.

KCC to hold bake sale

The Kosse Community Center will hold a bake sale on Friday, July 30 beginning at 9 a.m. downtown in front of the Farmers State Bank.

All proceeds will go to the roof repair on the center.

The Texas Beef Checkoff Program recently hosted the Second Annual Burger Brawl at the 2010 Southwest Foodservice Expo in Houston. Burgers not only take center stage during grilling season, but they are a hot menu trend at restaurants across the country.

Carter BloodCare is asking for community support to help boost the local blood inventory level. It is not unusual that summer is a difficult time of year for blood centers across the nation. However, Carter BloodCare says its current blood inventory is lower than expected – even for a slow time of year.
