Another Great Day
My friend Gale Cate called and said, “Let’s go fishing”. I said, “when?” He said, “I will pick you up and take you to Lake Fairfield in 30 minutes”. I said, “I will be ready when you get here”. The wind was calm and it was cloudy. The sign that fish will bite.
We launched in at 9:00 a.m. and went to one of my favorite spots on the lake.
Those fish really bit good. We caught 35 fish, all good fish. I caught about 35 pounds- one weighed 5.10 ounces. Gayle caught about 40 lbs. and all was put on film that was over 4 lbs. We had one of the best days we have had on Lake Fairfield ever!
The lake was 4 ft. low and stumps were thick, but the fish turned on. It is very nice to have a fishing buddy to take you fishing, especially at my age. I set a new record, it was my first 5 pound 10 ounce bass at the age of 88 and 8 months old.
In closing- take a kid fishing- or an old man like me. Good fishing.

Note:
The Mexia Bass Club voted to fish Lake Waco at first light on the 10th and 11th. More on this next week.
A big bass record fell this month at 13.65 lbs. The pros think this will be broken again by some angler with the know how. The lake has the potential these days of producing giant bass.
