Teague Teenager Dies in Accident

Candace Beggs, 18, of Teague died in a two-car crash Sunday near Mexia.

Beggs was traveling weatbound on the Highway 84 bridge over Lake Mexia when her vehicle swerved and was struck broadside by a Kia Rio driven by Dusti Valsomahi, 27, of Waco.

Passengers in the Kia included Alaina Martin, 20, of Waco, a 4-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy.

Alaina and Dusti were injured and the boy was taken to Cooks Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.

Alaina was listed in critical condistion Monday afternoon and Dusti was in stable condition. Both were in a Waco hospital.

Both children were wearing seat belts and not tickets were issued.

Trooper Donnie Carter investigated the accident and said alcohol was not involved.
