This Editor and the Journal wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas!

As will be noted in another story, this is the Journal's 2008 Christmas Greeting issue. This week's newspaper contains many Christmas Greeting ads and Santa Letters.

Various announcements will be found in this week's Journal pertaining to the Journal holiday schedule and hours during Christmas week.

In spite of the current economic conditions, the people of Groesbeck and the area have been very generous this season with drives and projects to help the less fortunate.

These drives include Food for Families, the Spirit of Christmas Food Drive, Santa's Toy Bank, and the Angel Tree. The above named drives are only a few. There are others. In addition various organizations have made a special effort to help those in need.

The Journal will be on a special publication schedule next week. The deadline for news and ads for the Journal of December 25, will be this Friday at 9 a.m. The Journal will be mailed early next week.

As a result of the early deadline some items may be submitted too late for publication next week. Please rest assured that these items will be published the following week.

Please remember that the burn ban is still in effect for Limestone County.

Cold weather is predicted for part of this week with the possibility of rain.

This Editor is predicting a good rain before Christmas!
