Funeral Services Held December 12 for Mrs. Mary Jane Johnson Spillers
Mrs. Spillers was born January 8, 1915 to Emmett and Lila Myrtle Hensley Johnson in Mexia. She attended school at Forest Glade. Mrs. Spillers retired from the Mexia State School after working many years as a dorm attendant and in the sewing department. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, her family was the joy of her life. During her illness, Josh, Trenton and Gracie lived close enough to give her special attention during this time. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by sons, Ronnie Pat Spillers and wife, Marguerite of Flint, Charles Ray Spillers of Mexia, Danny Maurice Spillers, Sr. and wife, Katie of Easterly, Bobby Roy Spillers and wife, Margie of Flint; daughters, Linda Jane Spillers Bell and husband, Larry of McGregor, Mary Myrtle Spillers Hughes and husband, Ulmer of Old Union, Peggy Ann Spillers Blanchard of Mexia; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild; sister, Dolly Foreman of Lake Mexia; brother, Blake Johnson of Lake Mexia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Lila Myrtle Hensley, husband, Roy Spillers, sister, Ruby Bounds, brothers, H. L. Johnson, Roy Johnson, Barney Johnson, Weldon Johnson and grandsons, Danny Spillers, Jr. and Ray Creecy. Pallbearers were Larry Bell, Jr., Scott Moore, Bobby Roy Spillers, Jr., Russell Spillers, Mickey Spillers, Stevie Spillers, Wilmer Creecy, Billy Moore, Jr., Josh Alan Moore, Trenton Shayne McKinley and Gracie Jane McKinley. The greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren served as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
