Colby Brooke Catches Record Fish
Colby Brooke of Lorena Middle School hit the record book for the third time on Lake Fairfield when he landed this (pictured at left) 26 inch long, 5.5 pound channel cat on October 24. He also holds the Junior Angler Lake Fairfield Red Drum record plus the State Junior Angler Catch and Release Freshwater Red Drum (pictured at right), which weighed 13.6 pounds and was 36 inches long on September 6, 2008. Not bad for a ten year old. The record is in the books and Colby has the documents.
Colby is the son of Brian Brooke and the grandson of Roger and Vonda Brooke, all of Teague. His great grandparents are Archie Mae Brooke, Monroe Bass of Lake Limestone and the late Mary Bass. Colby was with his friend and fishing guide Jackie Kennedy on Lake Fairfield both record breaking times.
