Glance Back At Kosse March 6, 1959 YOUNG PEOPLE ENJOY PARTY AT LOG HUT The young people enjoyed a party at the Log Hut last Saturday. Chaperons were Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Lowery ***** Weekend specials at Springfield Grocery included: Flint River Peach halves, #2½ can, 2 for 55¢; Little Crow Peas, #303 can, 2 for 25¢; Waldorf Tissue, 3 rolls for 25¢; Red Spuds, 10 lb. bag, 29¢; Pork shoulder steak, lb., 39¢; Oak Farms Homo milk, ½ gal. 49¢; Fresh dressed A grade fryers, lb., 35¢. ***** March 1, 1979 INITIATED INTO GAMMA SIGMA DELTA Randy Hunter, son of Mrs. Reba Hunter of Kosse has recently been initiated into Gamma Sigma Delta, the national honor society of agriculture at Texas A&M University. This outstanding student was selected from more than 1,500 seniors and graduate students in the Colleges of Agriculture and Veterinary medicine based upon his scholastic achievement while enrolled at Texas A&M University. ***** CONGRESSMAN GRAMM VISITS IN KOSSE U.S. Congressman Phil Gramm hosted several Kosse officials and friends with breakfast on Tuesday morning at the El Cafe Cordova. ***** BLOODMOBILE COMING The Central Texas Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Kosse on March 16. |
