Along The River Bank
by Wayne Carroll

The Mexia Bass Club fished their March tournament on Lake Waco. The winners were Robert Carter and James Dabney - they won it with a total of 16.35 lbs. The second place winners were Johnny and Matt McGilvary. They weighed in 13.48 lbs. with Matt having the big bass of 2.76 lbs. Third place winners were Bert Harrison and Steve Hughes with 9.92 lbs. The weather was cold Saturday but OK Sunday.

The trip to Sam Rayburn is April 4, 5. They will weigh in at Twin Dykes Marina, and stay two days at the Bass Busters Inn on Hwy 255, across from Twin Dykes.

Well, the rain was welcomed by us all - the Navasota is still spilling over the dam at Ft. Parker - the ramp at the river is full bank and running water - but muddy. Everyone is happy about the good rain, even the fish. This will cause the blue bonnets to jump all out. Some were blooming last week.

For fishing - everything is muddy and will take two weeks to clear up.

Good fishing - WC
