Summer Family Bible School at Kosse Church of Christ
      The Church of Christ in Kosse is planning for a "Family Bible School" for June 15 through 17. The event is scheduled for each evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. and concluding by 8:30 p.m. The Family Bible School is planned for the evening so that parents as well as children will be able to attend. The theme of this family event is "Super Bible Heroes.

Kosse copperhead no freak of nature
      A two-tailed copperhead that bit a dog in Kosse two weeks ago was no mutated freak of nature, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Biologist Rick Knipe said last week. The Groesbeck Journal emailed photos taken of the beheaded snake to Knipe, who offered his expert opinion.

Get Your Turtles
      On June 13th at the Kosse City Park, the turtle race will begin! There will be several practice races and three age divisions. Age divisions being 5 and under, 6 - 9 years, and 10 to 12 years old. The races will begin shortly after the Kosse 5K Greyhound Race.

Greyhound 3rd ..MindGym Annual 5K Run-Walk
      On June 13th, we will again be hosting our 3rd annual 5K run-walk. It will begin at Kosse City Park. Registration forms are available at Bushwhacker's, Kosse Feedtrough and Kosse Cafe. You may also sign up that morning. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m.

      We are once again searching for area sponsors. With your donation of $100 or more your name or business will be placed on this years' t-shirts for the 5K run/walk. This event is being sponsored by Kosse Chamber of Commerce. The proceeds from this event will benefit a local Kosse project. All donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.

      June 7, 1979 KOSSE GIVES THE TEYKLS ROYAL SEND-OFF About 200 citizens were present at the Kosse Community Center last Thursday evening to honor the Terry Teykl family and to wish them God speed on their departure to College Station where Terry will establish the new Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

      June 4, 1959 KOSSE STUDENTS FINISH WITH HONORS Recognition is due the four former students of the Kosse school who graduated with honors from their respective schools. Miss June Shipper, who graduated from Thornton High School received a scholarship to Baylor University for the highest average. She plans to major in music at Baylor.

      Come and celebrate Bremond's rich Polish heritage at Polski Dzien (Polish Day) XXII on Friday and Saturday, June 26 & 27, 2009. See and taste a bit of Polish culture, food and tradition. Friday's events include the Miss Polish Day Beauty Pageant to be held at the Bremond ISD cafetorium starting at 6:00 PM with Zack and Jim of Waco 100 as emcees.
