On August 4, Stran Copeland, the son of Kenneth and Kellie Copeland of Robbins, will travel to Fort Worth to participate in a four day competition at the Youth Bull Riders (YBR) World Finals. At the finals he will try to become the World Champ at Mutton Bustin. More ... Local bracket racer, Jack Mauldin Jr., wins the Pro 1/8th mile race at the June 20th race at the Texas Motorplex dragstrip in Ennis. In route to the finals he had a perfect (.000) light. He also made it to the semi-finals in the Super Pro 1/4th mile race. Midway through the points season and Jack still maintains a slight lead in the season points standings. Jr. Sportman Racer Bradley Wilson wins the June 20th race at the Texas Motorplex Dragstrip in Ennis. In the finals, he ran a 12.961 on a 12.90 dial and won when the other racer broke out of (.226) six onethousandths of a second. More ... Forrest and Adair Win Bobby Forrest and Larry Adair won the Mexia Bass Club Tournament this past weekend on Lake Cedar Creek. They weighed in 15.79 lbs., and Adair had the big bass that weighed 5.11 lbs. While taking the fish out of the live well the big bass jumped out on the boat deck and almost got away. More ...
