Drought taking its toll on Texas
TWO CENTS
      A couple of weekends back, took a trip down to the coast and while window watching on the trip down, I saw some very, very dry land. Depressingly dry. I, having never been to this area of Texas before, didn't think of it as that unusual. My friends in the truck quickly informed me that this area of Texas is typically green and some parts under-water.

      Location Reports XTO Energy is drilling a field development well in Freestone County. Well #5, Hugh D. Whitaker Gas Unit II lease is in the Bear Grass field and Peck, N. A820 survey. The well has a total depth of 15,000 ft. and located .8 miles SW of Donie. There are 352 acres in the lease.

      The Buffalo Livestock Auction held its weekly livestock auction on Saturday, August 1. Total head sold were 1476; total head last sale was 1620. There were 207 sellers and 49 buyers. The sale is held every Saturday.
