     Carley Rand and Breann Bradley, players on the Groesbeck Red Hotz softball team, were picked up by Riesel for the t-ball district tournament held in Hubbard. Carley covered third, and Breann played at second and short-stop. They played very well. Carley is the daughter of Deana and Dr. Chris Rand. Breann is the daughter of Rachel and Jimmy Bradley. Making Youth Sports Fun Again for Kids
      Thousands of children participate in some sort of organized sport, whether it is school-related or on an independent team. Kids as young as 4 are now playing organized soccer and baseball.

      Watermelon Bowl The Groesbeck Goats will test themselves before they take on the competition. The Watermelon Bowl, Groesbeck High School's annual Red and White scrimmage, will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Groesbeck Stadium.

Bass Club to fish Richland Chambers

      The Mexia Bass Club voted to fish Lake Richland Chambers for their August Bass Tournament. They will put the boats in at Winters Ramp. Fishing times will be 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p m. They say launching boats will be no problem due to low water. The club also voted to fish Lake Toledo Bend for their October road trip. Two day total pound weigh in.
