Aaron Beaman speaks to Groesbeck Lions Club; awards presented
      Aaron Beaman, president of the Kosse Leo Club, was the speaker for the Groesbeck Lions Club on Wednesday, September 26. Beaman is also president of the district and state Leo Clubs. In his power point presentation Beaman gave information on the Leo Club organization and its relationship with Lions International as well state and local Lions organizations.

West Lake Limestone VFD drawing
      On Monday, September 7th, West Lake Limestone VFD will be drawing the winning ticket in the raffle for a ZTR mower with a trailer. The drawing will be held at 10 am at the courthouse in Groesbeck. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, it's not too late. LARA'S House Pet of the Week
     Yamaha has the coloring of a Golden Retriever. She was found at Lake Mexia when she climbed on the jet ski of a family. She enjoys jet skiing and riding in the car. Crimestoppers BBQ & auction coming up
      The annual Limestone County Crimestoppers barbecue and auction will take place on Saturday, September 12, at the Groesbeck Civic Center. The barbecue will be served from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The live auction will begin at approximately 7 p.m. The Prairie Hill Community will again cook and serve the barbecue dinner.

      Many places of businesses in Groesbeck will be closed on this Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. Limestone County offices will be closed for Labor Day. The office of the City of Groesbeck will be closed for Labor Day. However the regular Monday trash pickup will be conducted.

Waco man receives 44 years in prison for his role in Mexia home invasion shooting
      Last November 3rd, the resident at a home on Ross Avenue in Mexia became the target of a home invasion robbery. The resident reported that men had forced their way into the home, one armed with a handgun, and shot him.

      The Obama Administration has just issued a notice that Senior Citizens will not get a cost of living raise this year, because they are predicting inflation will be flat for the next two years. This is more of their terrible judgement because future inflation cannot be accurately determined.
