TSSWCB Receives Funding for O&M of Flood Control Dams
      TEMPLE - The Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) received a $15 million appropriation for the 2010-2011 biennium from the Texas Legislature to administer a state funded grant program to assist soil and water conservation districts (SWCDS) in performing operation, maintenance, and structural repair of flood control dams throughout the state.

Cotton Stalk destruction deadline extended
      Austin- The Texas Department of Agriculture announced recently that the cotton stalk destruction deadline has been extended for cotton growers in Zone 8, Area 1 due to weather factors including heavier than normal rainfall that continued over the previous two weeks and prevented fields from being workable.
