PIZZA & A MOVIE Saturday, Nov. 7 Open to all 4-H members and 4-H Clover members, movie night starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. This event will be held in the Limestone County Courthouse, Room G-13. Please R.S.V.P. to the County Office by Friday, Nov. 6.

Major Show Sign-Up Night Monday, Nov. 9 The Limestone County AgriLife office will have a sign-up night for anyone interested in showing their 4-H projects at any of the 2010 major shows (Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston or Austin). The meeting will be from 4-7 p.m. in Room G-13 in the basement of the Limestone County Courthouse. Call (254) 729-5314.

Livestock Clinic for 4-H Kids Saturday, Nov. 21 The Texas AgriLife Extension Office in Limestone County will be hosting a free livestock clinic for all 4-H Clover members and 4-H members showing beef, swine, lamb or goat projects. This clinic will cover all the basics of showing your animal, such as how to conduct oneself in the show ring, proper handling of animals, feeding and much more. The clinic will be held at the new Limestone County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to noon. Bring your show animal for a hands on experience. All 4-H members will benefit! HOLIDAY CLASSIC December 5-6 The 18th annual North Holiday Classic Beef, Lamb, Goat & Swine Clinic & Prospect Show will be at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton. This free event is open to all interested youth in 4-H and FFA. Free Saturday evening meal. Youth must attend Saturday clinics to participate in Sunday showmanship and prospect shows. Clinics will start at noon Saturday, Dec. 5, and at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. IMPORTANT 4-H DEADLINES Validation dates to remember Some of the validation dates for the 2010 Limestone County Fair and Youth Livestock Show are as follows: * Oct. 24, 8-10 a.m., market heifers and steers; * Dec. 12, 8-11 a.m., hogs, lambs, goats and breeding heifers; * March 5, 2010, 5 p.m., declaration of projects; * March 6, 2010, 8-11 a.m., rabbits, horses, ag mechanics. To compete in the county show as a 4-H member, participants must be a member of the organization by Nov. 1.
