Coolidge Garden Club enjoys gourmet dining experience
      The second meeting of the Coolidge Garden Club, October 16, finds them ready to go to the Culinary Arts School on the TSTC campus. There were nine members and two guests joining together for this experience. Naomi Dillard, Doris Taylor’s granddaughter form Ft. Worth was visiting for the first time. Bobbie McReynolds of Coolidge was the clubs second visitor.

      ........ T he Pas tor of the Baptist Church , Dale McDaniel, returned home to fill the pulpit Sunday after a short vacation to the Galveston area. He said he caught some fish but, he did not tell us any fish tales.

Gov. Perry encourages innovation and investment in Texas
      AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry credited the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF) with helping strengthen Texas’ economy by attracting innovative companies, research dollars and jobs to the state. The governor spoke at the Gulf Coast Innovation Conference and Showcase, where he announced ETF investments in three Texas companies. The ETF awards are as follows:

     According to a 2009 study conducted by the AARP, the number of senior citizens, persons aged 65 and older, who filed for bankruptcy rose a staggering 150 percent between 1991 and 2007. Worse yet, a similar study by the Consumer Bankruptcy Project found that among people aged 75 to 84, bankruptcy rates increased by 433 percent.
