Nurse practitioner joins FMC staff
      Ann Hackbarth, a family nurse practitioner and a native of Taylor, has joined the staff at Family Medicine Center. She started her position at the Groesbeck clinic in September. As a nurse practitioner, Hackbarth can diagnose and treat health problems and prescribe medications. Her supervising physician is Dr. Frank Boyd.

Airport project ready to take-off
      Construction on Limestone County’s new airport terminal likely will break ground in early 2010, County Judge Daniel Burkeen said last week, and the bidding process will start in a matter of days.

Democrats have successful meeting
      The Limestone County Democratic Club (LCDC) met Thursday, October 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the County Courtroom. The meeting was conducted by Billy Waldrop, President who led us in the Pledge of Allegiance after B.K. Stone who led us in an opening prayer. Several items were discussed such as date, time and location of the next meeting.

Santa for Seniors needs help meeting goal
      Santa for Seniors needs the help of area residents to meet its goal of providing all area nursing home residents with a Christmas gift. Although downpours kept the crowd smaller at the Oct. 3 fundraiser than in years past, Doug Stalinsky said his organization has raised more than $4,500 so far this year. Just over $2,000 was raised during the fund-raising auction.

      Brave One (aka Shotsie) is a German Shepherd mix who has been fixed and is up to date on her shots. She is very friendly, docile dog who was skin and bones when she was turned over to LARAS’ House. Now she is very healthy and ready for a new forever home.

Class of 2014 Parent meeting
