Groesbeck F FA competes at Waco fair
      Several members of Groesbeck High School FFA competed in this month’s Heart of Texas Fair livestock competition, ag instructors Jaron Hennig and Brian Brightwell said earlier this week. Denai Drummond placed eighth with a lamb and also showed a goat in the competition. Also placing with lambs were Aaron Beaman, 10th; Hailey Day, 13th; and Miski Hollis, 14th.

Goats 7th and 8th Football teams take 3 of 4 from Lorena
      The Groesbeck Middle School football teams played Lorena recently, with the Goats winning three of four games. In the seventh grade Red game, Groesbeck defeated Lorena 8 to 6.

Making Halloween fun for diabetic children
      Today, candy is the central focus of the spookiest holiday of the year. In fact, the average American consumes 24 pounds of candy in a year, most of which is eaten right after Halloween according to the U.S. Census Bureau. But for children with diabetes, it can be difficult to enjoy the festivities when all their fellow goblins are in a frenzy to get their hands on mounds of sweet treats.

Connally Defeats GMS 8th Grade
      Last week, the Goats lost to the Cadets, 30 to 0. The Goats had some good drives but failed to score with hard offensive running by Tony Parker. The Goat defense could not keep the Cadets out of the end zone. Key offensive players were Tony Parker, Chris Kelley, and Cody Favors. Key defensive players were Barrett Myers, Sam Marler, and Stephen Featherston.

Cactus Express Sponsor Texas High School Rodeo Team
      Cody and Bryce are competing in the Team Roping Division of the Texas High School Rodeo Association 20009-2010 being sponsored by Cactus Express of Paris, Lufkin and Groesbeck. Cody is a sophmore and Bryce is a freshman at Groesbeck High School. They competed at the Circle T Arena in Hamilton this past week end.
