Prices vary according to quantity and type of fruit ordered. Oranges, grapefruit, apples and pears are available. Baskets will arrive the first week of December. SINGLES DANCE Sunday, Nov. 8 The Waco Chapter of the Texas Association of Single Adults will have a dance from 6-10 p.m. at the Hewitt VFW, 725 SunValley Blvd. in Hewitt (Exit 328 off I-35). VETERANS DAY Wednesday, Nov. 11 The American Legion Post of Limestone County will present a Veterans Day Remembrance program at the 10 a.m. at the Limestone County Courthouse in Groesbeck. Students from Groesbeck Elementary will participate, and the Legion Honor Guard will close the program with a rifle salute. ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW Saturday, Nov. 14 The annual Fall Arts & Crafts Show and Citywide Garage Sale will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Groesbeck Civic Center. Booths will rent for $25. LAKE MEXIA CHILI Saturday, Nov. 14 The Lake Mexia Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fund-raiser at the fire station, located at the intersection of LCR 337 and LCR Comanche. Homemade chili with beans, cobbler and iced tea will be served from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Take-out orders will be available. Win some holiday cash by taking a chance in the drawing. First prize is $300, second is $200. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. All tickets will be available at the door. THORNTON THANKSGIVING Monday, Nov. 16 The Thornton Thanksgiving Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Thorton-Walters Community Center, which is at the old school house. The Chamber of Commerce will provide turkey, ham, dressing, cranberries, tea, coffee and rolls. Bring a dish to share. DEMOCRATS MEET Tuesday, Nov. 17 The Limestone County Democrat Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Mexia Annex, 205 S. McKinney. COFFEE WITH THE CHIEF Friday, Nov. 20 The first in an occasional series of seminars designed to protect Groesbeck residents and businesses from crime will deal with hot-check writers. KOSSE FOOD DRIVE Friday, Nov. 20 Food collected during the Kosse Helping Hands Food Drive will stay in Kosse and help local families. There are two drop-off locations, City Hall and Farmers State Bank. The group is asking local churches to collect food. For more information, call (254) 375-2571. CHRISTMAS IN BREMOND Saturday, Dec. 5 Vendor booths are available for Christmas in the Park. The price is $20 for a booth, if you need electricity at your booth it will be $25. We are collecting donations for the toys that will be given away to the children. Last year, each child who attended received a gift, and we are collectiog toys or a monetary donation for this. The event will have various games for the children and adults, prizes will be awarded, vendor booth of all types, jewelry, plants, food, etc. Santa will be available for pictures, and entertainment will be provided for a fun filled event.
