Friday, Nov. 20 The first in an occasional series of seminars designed to protect Groesbeck residents and businesses from crime will deal with hot-check writers. KOSSE FOOD DRIVE

Friday, Nov. 20 Food collected during the Kosse Helping Hands Food Drive will stay in Kosse and help local families. There are two drop-off locations, City Hall and Farmers State Bank. The group is asking local churches to collect food. For more information, call (254) 375-2571.

Tuesday, Nov. 24 WMA bake sale at Bethel Baptist Church next to Brookshire’s grocery store.

HOSPITAL BOARD

Tuesday, Nov. 24 The board of directors of South Limestone Hospital District will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. in the conference room of Limestone Medical Center.

MISTLETOE, MUSIC

& MAGIC

Dec. 3-5 The Mexia Chamber of Commerce and other sponsors will hold a Merry Christmas Market & Holiday Outdoor Festival in downtown Mexia. Events include: Thursday, Dec. 3: Market and food court will be open 4-8 p.m.; annual Parade of Lights begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4: Market and food court will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; The Little Miss Mistletoe Pageant begins at 7 p.m. in the Mexia Junior High Cafetorium. Tickets are $5 for adults and students, $3 for children 8 and younger. Saturday, Dec. 5: Market and food court will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Santa’s Photo Shop will be open 10 a.m. to noon at the Mexia Civic Center. Candy Cane Lane games and children’s activities will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center.

CHRISTMAS IN BREMOND

Saturday, Dec. 5 Vendor booths are available for Christmas in the Park. The price is $20 for a booth, but if you need electricity at your booth it will be $25. Anyone interested in setting up a booth, please contact Cathy Penick at (254) 746-5350 or Nancy Heaton at (254) 746- 7548 or Rachel Windham at (979) 906-0071. We are collecting donations for the toys that will be given away to the children. Last year, each child who attended received a gift, and we are collectiog toys or a monetary donation for this. Anyone intested in donating may contact Cathy Penick, Nancy Heaton or Rachel Windham. Deadline for this is Nov. 1. The event will have various games for the children and adults, prizes will be awarded, vendor booth of all types, jewelry, plants, food, etc. Santa will be available for pictures, and entertainment will be provided for a fun filled event. The lighting of the Christmas Tree will take place at dark.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

Saturday, Dec. 5 The West Lake Limestone VFD is sponsoring this event in the First United Methodist Church MAC Building, 212 W. Navasota. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage and drink. Kids can make an ornament to take home for their tree. Door prizes awarded every 15 minutes. Cost is $5 for breakfast and a photo.

LMC TREE LIGHTING

Tuesday, Dec. 8 The annual lighting of the Limestone Medical Center Christmas tree will take place at 6 p.m. The event will coincide with the official opening of Mrs. Ruby’s Gift Shop at the hospital.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

month Limestone County Conservatives meet the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Kosse Community Center.

GROESBECK REBUILDS

AMERICA The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at Mi Rancho and the third Wednesday of each month in the Farmers State Bank Community Room. Meetings begin at 5:30 p.m.

SEAT CHECK The third Wednesday
