Chamber of Commerce has monthly meeting The Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce met for its monthly meeting on Thursday, November 12, in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church. The meal was provided by Longbotham Furniture. The Groesbeck Holiday Gift Show (Arts & Crafts) Show and Citywide Garage Sale, both of which were held on last Saturday, were discussed. The Christmas activities will be held on December 3, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Hawkins Park. Please see additional story. The Chamber of Commerce banquet, which will be held on January 30, 2010, was discussed briefly. More information on the banquet will be announced at a later date. Darla Wurtz of the Groesbeck ISD expressed thanks for the passage of the recent bond election. She stated that the new bus fleet (included in the bond election) will be arriving in January. Cody Campbell of the Limestone Medical Center announced the Christmas lighting ceremony for the LMC will be held on Tuesday, December 8. He added that the LMC Auxiliary would have a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Mrs. Ruby’s Gift Shop which is located in the hospital. The gift is named in memory of Mrs. Ruby Carter Bennett, a longtime officer and devoted member of the LMC Auxiliary. Various other announcements were also made during the meeting. |
