Along The River Bank
Lake Trading House gets the nod
The Mexia Bass Club voted to fish Lake Trading House on the 14th and 15th of December. This little lake is full bank now but it has been pretty low this summer. The lake usually gets the nod this time of the year and some good catches will probably be weighed in. Starting time is 6:30 a.m. and weigh in will be 3 p.m.
At this time Buddy Borden is still in the lead by about a pound and a half ahead of Steve Hughes. No doubt the top ten anglers will have a change in the standings due to good fishing at Trading House Lake.
The Bass Club is 40 years old and has a membership of 46 anglers. Some are very good at angling. When you catch a 100 pounds and are over with a 4 fish limit you gotta be good. This has happened several times.
The Bass Club will meet on November 24th. At this meeting you have a chance to discuss any rules or activities the club may have coming up. Only to discuss or change rules and then vote on it the next meeting in December. Buddy Borden who is the president says to be at the meeting if you want to change a rule or vote on any issue that might come up in December.
The club will probably help with the trout clinic at Springfield Lake in January if they have it again.
In closing - With advancing years there comes maturing wisdom that only develops with old age. Such wisdom cannot be attained from text books. No college course can provide it. It must be hammered out, often painfully, on the anvil of real life experience. In our old age we have the privilege of sharing with others our dearly bought discoveries.
This month will be Thanksgiving on the 26th, let us give thanks to the Lord for all we have. It all belongs to Him anyway.....WC
