MD2 State Leo Conference
      The Texas Leo Council celebrated their 1st Anniversary by hosting their second successful leadership conference Saturday, November 7th at the MCM Elgante’ Hotel & Suites in Dallas, Texas. The first Texas Leo Council was established November 8, 2008 in Del Rio, Texas.

Kosse Senior Citizens
      We had a busy town last week. Seniors on Mon. and Wed., Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday night. All events were great. Thanksgiving dinner there was a crowd and between the hams and turkeys cooked by the Kosse ladies and the food brought by each family, the decorated tables all had a great time.

Parade highlights Mexia festival
      The magic of Christmas is about to arrive in Mexia. The annual Mistletoe, Music & Magic Christmas Market & Holiday Festival begins its three-day run on Thursday, Dec. 3. Most of the events, including the Market & Food Court, will be held in and around the Mexia Civic Center.

Spirit of Christmas Food Drive Began Nov. 18
      The 28th annual Spirit of Christmas Food Drive, sponsored by Brookshire Grocery Co. and the Groesbeck Lions Club, began Wednesday, Nov. 18. The food drive provides food for needy families in Groesbeck at Christmas.

Chautauqua to feature Civil War-era music
      A two-hour holiday Chautauqua and Coffee featuring 1800s music will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, at Confederate Reunion Grounds State Historic Site. Members of “Time Was,” a group of musical historians that focuses on music from the Civil War, will perform and speak on instruments of that era. Band members perform in period attire.

Bremond Christmas in the park
      Just a reminder of Christmas in the Park to be held on December 5 at the Bremond City Park. Games for the children and adults, pictures with Santa, vendor booths, jewelry, food, handbags, t-shirts, etc. All festivities start at 11a.m. and end at dark with the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Prizes will be given to all the children. Entertainment will be provided.
