Texans pay less for turkey feasts
      Texas families will spend about $31.99 to prepare a typical Thanksgiving dinner for 10 this year, according to figures released this week by Waco-based Texas Farm Bureau. Nationwide, the average cost of the feast is $42.91. Although Farm Bureau has been conducting the nationwide survey since 1986, this is the first year for the Texas version.

     Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on Monday morning for the new Limestone County Law Enforcement Center and Sheriff’s Office Complex. Sheriff Dennis Wilson and Limestone County Judge Daniel Burkeen made appropriate comments during the brief ceremony. The new facility is expected to be completed in 12 to 18 months.

      The Limestone County Conservatives met on Monday night, November 16, at the Kosse Community Center. John McCarver presided during the meeting, and following the pledge to the American flag, Rev. Billy Anderson gave the invocation.
