1903 Thornton students and teacher, Mrs. Laura Cannon
      Laura Cannon was the daughter of J. Allen and Althea A. Ray of Thornton. She taught in Thornton schools several years. She was married to Lewis Templeton Cannon, one of the three sons of John W. Cannon, who was a brother of Willis L. Cannon. In the 1930’s Lewis and Laura Cannon moved from Thornton to Kingsville in Kleburg County. They had one child, Lewis T. Cannon, Jr.

Thornton Senior Citizens Center
      The news from ‘Big T” is few and far between. I was not at the Center this week. I want to thank Wilmer Spivey and Shirley Peeve for holding down the fort. However - there were 15 of our people there. Good group! Remember the Food Bank will be in Kosse on Friday, Dec. 4. Distribution begins at 10 a.m. I hope all had a great Thanksgiving.
