GMS Student Advances in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest

Morgan McQueen, a 7th grade student at Groesbeck Middle School, has taken the first step to becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning a local competition sponsored by the Kosse Lions Club.
“Peace has the Power to Make the World a Happier Place,” the 13 year old student from Groesbeck said. The poster was selected for originality, artistic merit, and portrayal of the contest theme, “The Power of Peace.” Makenzie Sexton placed 2nd, and Haley Cooper with 3rd place.

An autographed copy of last year’s international winning poster was presented by Lion Daisy Butz of the Kosse Lions Club to Art Teacher, Mrs. Maria Baker in appreciation for assistance with the contest each year.
The Kosse Lions Club would like to invite all the participants to their “Opportunities for Youth” award night Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Kosse Community Center at 7 p.m. Price for the meal will be: $10.00 for adults and all children 18 years or younger eat free.
