Tom Fisher is speaker for Groesbeck Lions Club

Tom Fisher, superintendent of Fort Parker State Park, was the speaker for the Groesbeck Lions Club on Wednesday, January 27. George Humble, program chairman for January, introduced the speaker.

In his talk and power point presentation Fisher reviewed the history of Fort Parker State Park for the Lions. He included the early history of Fort Parker and Springfield, the first county seat of Limestone County.

Fisher related the various facilities of the state park. He also pointed out that park area has some unique wildlife, wild flowers and water foul.

During a brief business meeting the Lions approved three requests for eye glasses for local school children.
