The Cynthia Ann Garden Club met Jan. 28 in the Groesbeck Woman’s Club. Betty Blackstock, president, called the meeting to order with all members reciting the Garden Club Creed. Roll call was answered with the ladies naming a new plant that they would be planting in their yard this spring.
Betty Porter introduced the special speaker for the day, Mr. Barnett Lown. He gave a very informative talk on landscaping and naming plants that are appropriate for this area. For years, Mr. Lown had taught Agriculture in the Groesbeck schools. Everyone really enjoyed his program.
The program concluded with everyone reciting the Club Benediction. Members and guests then enjoyed fellowship and refreshments. Hostesses for the afternoon were Carol Bostain, Patsy Humble, Kay Driscoll and Ruth Gray.
