CPRA-UPRA SANCTIONED RODEO July 30-31 Frontier Rodeo Co. will present a twoday rodeo at the Limestone County Fairgrounds. Both nights will feature bareback riding, break-away roping, barrel racing, bull riding, calf roping, saddle bronc, steer wrestling and team roping. In addition to professional cowboys and cowgirls, local competitors are urged to participate. To enter, call (409) 745- 1471.Local kids can compete in special events, including mutton bustin’, pee wee barrel racing (9 and younger), junior barrel racing (15 and younger), junior bull riding (15 and younger) and junior breakaway roping (15 and younger). NATIONAL NIGHT OUT Tuesday, Aug. 3 The Groesbeck Police Department will host its National Night Out at City Park. There will be free hot dogs and swimming at City Pool from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Morticians, a Waco-based band, will perform beginning at 7 p.m. Fireworks begin at dark. BEEF & FORAGE WEBSHOP Tuesday, Aug. 10 The Texas Agrilife Extension Service of Limestone County will be hosting a Beef & Forage WebShop in Room G-13 at the Limestone Couty Courthouse. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program to follow. The workshop will address legumes and their production by Dr. Tryon Wickersham, TAMU Animal Nutritionist. The program free of charge. |
