Ryan Rand to play baseball with the Aggies
Ryan Rand, a Senior at Langham Creek High School, in the Cypress Fairbanks ISD, in Houston a large 5A school- committed and signed to play baseball with the Texas A&M University Aggies in College Station. Ryan is 6’5”, left handed, first baseman, centerfielder and pitcher, and was heavily recruited by University of Oklahoma, TCU, Baylor, Rice, Sam Houston, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, and many others. Ryan is in the National Honor Society and is ranked, academically at number eight in his senior class of 675 students. In addition, Ryan attended the Major League try outs at Baseball USA, and he was timed the fastest baseball player in Houston Region in the 60 yard dash. He is on the list of the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, and others as a possible high round draft choice after his senior year in high school.
Ryan is the son of Suzie and Casey Rand. Casey is a 1988 graduate of Texas A&M University and is a Global Manager for EXXONMOBIL in Upstream Systems. Also, Ryan’s brother, Tyler Rand is an outstanding football, basketball and baseball player, and will play as a freshmen on the Varsity baseball team, this year.
Ryan is the grandson of Patricia and Glendall Rand, both Groesbeck High graduates. Glendall graduated from Texas A&M where he also was a football letterman for the Aggies and is a lifetime member of the Texas A&M Lettermens Association.
“We are all very excited that Ryan will be playing for the Aggies, as they join the Southeastern Conference, and he will be playing in the beautiful, remodeled Blue Bell Park at Olsen Field in Aggieland,” stated Glendall Rand.
Ryan also has numerous relatives living in Groesbeck.
