- Dorothy H. Shelton Funeral Services Held February 5
Dorothy Shelton, 82, of Lorena passed away Saturday February 2, 2008 in Providence Health Center in Waco.
Funeral services were conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Groesbeck with Bro. Richard Williams and David Hunter officiating. Burial followed in Old Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Shelton was born July 19, 1925 in Limestone County to Howard and Bertha (Carter) Hinchcliffe.
Survivors include her son Larry Shelton and wife Gracie of Rockwall, TX and daughter, Cindy Shelton of Durango, CO; grandson, Kevin Shelton and wife Tracy of Mesquite, TX and granddaughter, Darla Dilodovico and husband Paul of Forney, TX; great-grandchildren, Tiffani, Kendra and Spencer; great-great grandchildren, Haleigh and Dylan; sister, Shirley Winton and husband Carl of Burnett, TX; niece, Shari Thorn and children Skyler and Savannah; nephew, Daryl Roberts and son Colten; and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Shelton, parents and brother, Bobby Hinchcliffe.

Services Pending for Mary G. Cassell

Mary Garland Boyd Cassell passed away early on January 30 at the age of 92 as a result of a recent stroke.
Mary was born on July 15, 1915 in Groesbeck Texas to Drayton and Lela Boyd. She graduated from Groesbeck High School as salutatorian and attended Mary Harden Baylor and Texas Tech. She taught school for a few years and during the war, worked in Washington, DC. She married John L. Cassell, her husband of 62 years, in November1940 and resided in the Lakewood area of Dallas since 1948.
Mary is survived by her only child, Jay Cassell, and his wife, Gay Weake, of Ketchum, Idaho, as well as six brothers- and sisters-in-law and their families. Her husband, John, preceded her in death. Mary was known for her sense of humor, independence, sharp memory, and interest in others. She will be missed by all.
There will be a private service at Restland followed by a memorial service at Northridge Presbyterian Church in late February. The family requests that donations, in lieu of flowers, be made in Mary’s memory to Northridge Presbyterian Church (6920 Bob-O-Link Drive, Dallas TX 75214) or charity of choice.
