Graveside Services Held January 21 for Nelda N. Henderson
Nelda Wynell Nichols Henderson was born January 28, 1926 in Groesbeck and passed away January 18, 2008 in Cedar Hill, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Henderson, Jr. and son, Edward Nichols Henderson.
She is survived by son, James F. Henderson, III and wife, Vicki and daughter-in-law, Tina Henderson; grandchildren: Joshua, Stefani, Grant, Eric and wife, Melissa and great-granddaughter Rachel; nephews: Eddie and Harold; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held on Monday, January 21, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
“Buddy” Leonard Funeral Services Held January 22
Buddy Floyd C. Leonard of Groesbeck passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008 in Waco, Texas.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Layton and Rev. Jerry Fulton officiating. Burial followed at Lost Prairie Cemetery with Bob Winn officiating.
Buddy was born July 22, 1927 to Obie Leonard and wife, Sara Cathrine Dewey in DeRidder, Louisiana. On August 6, 1956, Buddy married Anita Carol Park Leonard. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from ARCO International on April 1, 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Parks Leonard; his daughters, S. Celeste Leonard Hill and husband Paul of Jewett, and Dana Cathrine Leonard of Donie; his grandsons, Jeffrey Leonard Helsley of Billings, MT, Ryan Christopher Leonard of Groesbeck, Stanton C. Helsley of Billings, MT, Jacob Thomas Leonard of Donie, Aron Michel Orndorff of Donie; his granddaughters, Angela Celeste Helsley of Billings, MT, Sara Cathrine Orndorff of Donie; his great granddaughters, Kariann Helsley of Billings, MT, Kelly Helsley of Billings, MT; his great grandsons Zyon E. Leonard of Groesbeck, Evan C. Leonard of Groesbeck; his sister-in-law, Era D. Burch of DeRidder, LA; his niece, Charlotte Burch of DeRidder, LA, along with numerous cousins, friends and extended family in laws.
Bruce D. Morford Passes Away January 10, 2008
Bruce Dee Morford was born in Newton, Kansas on June 9, 1950. He passed away after a brief illness on January 10, 2008. He spent the last several years managing vacation properties all over the U.S. He was visiting Maggie Valley, North Carolina when he passed away. Maggie Valley is in the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which is one of Bruce’s favorite spots. So it was fitting that he was laid to rest there on a mountaintop. His family is comforted by the knowledge of his faith in Christ and that we will one day be reunited with him.
Bruce served with the Limestone County Sheriffs Dept. as a deputy for 2 years in the mid 1970’s. Those were good days! Both of his daughters were born while living in Texas. Kelly Morford Clark and Kristen Morford, both now live in Florida.

Robert M. Parmley Passes Away In Oklahoma
Robert M. Parmley passed away on January 8, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born September 8, 1929 in Three Rivers, Texas, where he was the eldest of seven children, to Merton and Emma Commander Parmley.
He grew up in Groesbeck and attended Baylor University. He later made his home in Oklahoma City where he was the president and owner of Geological Logging Company for over 35 years. He was a Veteran of Foreign Wars, having served in the Navy; a Master Mason; India Temple Shriner; and member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
Bob loved visiting and "shooting the breeze" with his friends, traveling and being with his horses.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Francis Honeycutt.
He is survived by his son, Robert W. Parmley and wife Janna of Oklahoma City; his daughter, Tamara Parmley of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepdaughter Karla Kerce and husband Tim of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Kathryn Parmley Harriman and Paula Parmley Alexander; three brothers: Jerry Parmley, Freddie Parmley, and James Parmley, all of Texas; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation at 15441 Knoll Trail, Suite 190, Dallas, TX 75248.
Services were held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the Chapel at Smith & Kernke in Oklahoma City.
