Memorial Service for Michael T. Nance Held January 14
Michael Timothy Nance passed away after a brief illness in a Waco hospital on January 11, 2008. He was born on August 28, 1943, in Goose Creek, TX.
Mike was a 1961 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX. After high school, Mike married Linda Ruth Nelson on May 9, 1964, in Baytown. He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, being stationed in Turkey, England, Germany, Arizona, Minnesota, and Georgia. He retired in 1985 in Valdosta, GA.
Mike fulfilled his childhood dream of driving a steam train when he worked at the Agrirama Living Museum in Tifton, GA, in 1987. Mike had many varied interests including the study of mushrooms, world events, gadgetry, and genealogy. He was self-taught in computers, and was an active member of the Thornton Cemetery Association and an Associate Member of the Limestone County Republican Women’s Club.
His life continues to be celebrated by his wife Linda; son Charles Michael Nance and daughter-in-law Elizabeth “Elaine” of Groesbeck; daughter Deborah Ruth Walton, son-in-law Ben James Walton, granddaughters Aislinn Ruth and Willow Rowan Walton of Lubbock; parents Pat and Walker Nance of Thornton; brother Bill Nance and his wife Bonnie of Greenville, TN; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Alvie Wright Nance of Baytown, and his grandparents.
A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at 3 PM in the Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. Interment followed in the King Cemetery. Memorial Services for Charles Spencer Daily Held January 15
Charles Spencer Daily was gathered to the Lord and his people January 12, 2008 in Groesbeck, Texas. The second of three sons, Charles was born April 1, 1925 in Harleton, Texas to Rev. Henry Benson Daily and wife, Katie Estelle (Walker) Daily.
After Rev. Daily served a number of small churches in Texas, the family settled in Georgetown where Charles attended Georgetown schools and entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 during WWII. In 1944 he married Danie Elizabeth Hausenfluck of Georgetown. Following the war, he returned to Georgetown where he opened a dental laboratory serving dentists in the surrounding area. Charles and Danie were active members of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ and Charles served as a Boy Scout Leader in the community. In 1957 Charles accepted employment as a dental technician with Veterans Administration Hospital in Marlin, and completed 30 years of service, retiring from the VA in 1987. He was awarded many Superior Performance Certificates, Service Awards and was recognized for significant contributions to the improvement of health services. Charles was an original board member and worked to help establish the Waco-Marlin Federal Credit Union now known as Members Choice of Central Texas.
Shortly after moving to Marlin in 1957 he helped establish and served on the board of directors for Camp Sunset, a Christian summer camping program at Fort Parker State Park which provided the foundation for a Christian youth camping tradition that continues to the present.
The Daily’s built a home and resided in Marlin until 2004 when health issues necessitated full time care for them both.
Very active in community and church activities, Charles was instrumental in a successful fundraising campaign and the construction of the Ward Street Church of Christ. In his later years, he served the Eastside Church of Christ in Marlin as an elder and again participated in the work of building a new place of worship. As a humble servant in the church, he often taught Bible classes, lead singing, tended to whatever needs arose, and was a compassionate helper of family, neighbors and friends through the years.
Charles and Danie raised four children: Charlie, Patsy, Jim and Angela and celebrated 62 years of marriage in 2006.
He was preceded in death by his son Jim in 1998 and wife, Danie, in 2007.
He is survived by son Charles Daily, Jr. and wife Jody of Groesbeck; daughter Pat Clowe and husband Kelly of Keller, daughter Angela Jarosek of Temple, daughter-in-law Barbara Parrish of Houston; brother Henry B. Daily and wife Lynn of Stockton, CA; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
His memorial services were held at the Eastside Church of Christ in Marlin, Tuesday, January 15th at 10:30 A.M. with burial following in the IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown at 3:30 P.M.
Graveside Services Held Jan. 12 for Barbara Hall
Barbara Glyn Davenport-Hall was born December 14, 1958 in Whitier, California and passed from this life on January 7, 2008 at her home in Groesbeck after a lengthy and debilitating illness. She was 49 years old.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Jerry Ellis Hall and her parents, Glen and Hazel Davenport.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Glen Hall of Dawson; sisters, Beverly Davenport of Dawson and Diane Waters and husband, Mike of Kaufman as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews who loved her and will miss her dearly.
Barbara attended Hutchins Baptist School and had many lifelong friends from that area as well as friends, uncles and aunts from the Mexia-Groesbeck area that will also miss her.
Barbara chose cremation and wanted graveside services to be laid to rest with her lifelong friend and husband, Jerry. Service and interment were at Driver Cemetery in Freestone County between Teague and Fairfield on Saturday, January 12 at 3:00 pm.
Bobbie F. Hudson Funeral Services Held January 15
Bobbie F. Hudson, 73, a lifelong resident of Aransas Pass, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 in Rockport, Texas. He was born April 7, 1934 in Thornton, Texas to Frank and Lizzie (St. Clair) Hudson.
He was a past employee of Brown & Root. Bobbie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Aransas Masonic Lodge 1018, Scotish Rite in San Antonio, and Al Amin Shrine in Corpus Christi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Joann Hudson.
He is survived by his son, James “Hutch” (Brenda) Hudson of Aransas Pass; two step-sons: Mark (Deanna) Marburger of Sulphur, Louisiana and Jay Marburger of Aransas Pass; two step-daughters: Terri (Camus) Courmier of Sulphur, Louisiana and Ann Marburger of Pearland; four sisters, Margaret Clapsaddle of Victoria, Norma (Dennis) Wolfford of Houston, Ruby (Don) Manen of Floresville, and Mary (Dale) Yardley of Houston; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Marshall Chapel, 2003 West Wheeler, Aransas Pass, with Rev. Dee Blasingame officiating. Interment followed at Prairie View Cemetery, Aransas Pass, Texas with Masonic services at graveside.

Glenda N. Sears Funeral Services Held January 11
Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Nadene Sears, 64 of Lake Mexia were held Friday, January 11, 2008 in Temple Baptist Church in Mexia. Bro. Michael Vestal and Charles Loyd officiated. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving.
Mrs. Sears was born February 16, 1943 in Prescott, Arkansas and passed away on January 7, 2008 in a Waco hospital. She had been a resident of Mexia for 10 years, was a homemaker and member of the Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Lois Glass Pratt; her husband, John Noah Sears; a daughter, Bethany Sands and a brother, Wayne Pratt.
Mrs. Sears is survived by her sons: Gary Sears and wife, Paula of Dawson and Terry Sears and wife, Lora of Godley; a daughter, Deanna Hutchason and husband, David of Aquilla; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a sister, Jean Halliburton and husband, Ray of Mexia.

Memorial services for Mrs. Clara Jane Stuck, 67 of Tehuacana were held Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in New Life Tabernacle, Mexia. Bro. J. L. Hall, pastor and Bro.Charles Holloway officiated.
Mrs. Stuck was born April 1, 1940 in Green Township, Michigan to William Leonard and Arlene Violet (Keetch)Wilder. She passed away on January 12, 2008 in the local hospital. She worked in social services, was a homemaker and member of the New Life Tabernacle.
She is survived by her children: Ferron Murl Williams, Mexia; Stormy Marie Carpenter Tehuacana; Micki Lynn Hoit, West Plains, MO; Summer Arlene Hornbaker, Salem, Arkansas; Spring Therille Rupert, Mexia; Valerie Lynette Kuczek, Tehuacana; and Crystal Renee’ Stuck, Tehuacana; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Richard William Wilder, Palestine, Judith Elaine Cohoon, Phoenix, Texas, Ruth Carol Gardner, Thayer, MO, Debra Ann Myers, College Station, Kathryn Sue Budzisz , College Station and Robert Wayne Wilder of Mexia.
