Obituaries - Issue of December 13, 2007

- George T. Bozeman Funeral Services Held December 7
George T. Bozeman, 68 of Mexia passed away Tuesday December 4, 2007 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 7 at Temple Baptist Church in Mexia with Bro. Michael Vestal, Bro. Jerry Fulton, and Bro. Gaylan Henry officiating. Burial followed at Lost Prairie Cemetery.
George was born June 29, 1939 in Limestone County to O.T. and Allie B. Bozeman. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife Patsy McWaters Bozeman in 1971 and by his daughter, Rhonda Whitfield in 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jewel Willett Bozeman; son Tilmon Bozeman and wife Donna; son Mike Smith and wife Bennie; daughter Susan Lloyd and husband Tommy; daughter Jennifer Hayes and husband Bill, all of Mexia; and son-in-law Carey Whitfield of Corsicana; brothers: William and wife Sharron Bozeman and Otis and wife Janice of Mexia; sisters: Ann Fulton and husband Gerald of Cotton Gin and Donna Robinson of Mexia.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Rebekah and TBo Bozeman, Trent and Jace Lloyd, Tarin and Reece Haves, all of Mexia; Amy Bruckner and River Whitfield of Corsicana, Kadie B. Miller of Kirven, Kevin and Justin Barkouskie of Mexia, and Chelsea Hughey of Midland; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
George loved his family, his grandchildren and special dog "Baby". He enjoyed hunting, fishing and dominoes. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Mexia

Funeral Services Held Dec. 7 for Edith Nan Perry
Funeral services for Edith Nan Perry, 71, of Temple, were held Friday, December 7, 2007 at Dossman Funeral Home with Chaplin, Buddy Burton and Tim Simmons officiating. Interment was in the Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck.
Mrs. Perry passed away on Wednesday, December 5, at a Temple hospital.
Nan was born in Groesbeck on Nov. 19, 1936 to O.T. “Pig” Sills and Annie May Watson Sills on November 19, 1936.
Nan grew up in Thornton and was valedictorian of the Thornton High School class of 1955. She was married in Kosse to Billy Tilton Perry of Groesbeck on September 11, 1957. She owned Nan’s Gifts and Ceramics for many years and enjoyed teaching ceramic classes. She loved flower gardening and playing with her grandkids and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Woodway.
She was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by one son, Scott Perry of Destin, Florida; one daughter, Valerie Mercer and husband Bruce of Temple; one brother, Kenneth Sills and wife Bonnie of Pasadena; one sister, Linda Naff and husband Frank of Lufkin; seven grandchildren, Danielle Farnham and husband Jacob, Erika Mercer, Andrea Mercer, Kristin Mercer, Connor Perry and Nicole Perry; and one great grandson Enoch Farnham.

Graveside Services Held December 6 Peggy Gwynn Rasco
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Gwynn (Wylie) Rasco were held Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Dew Cemetery with Rev. Carl Clark officiating.
Mrs. Rasco was born Sept. 22, 1933 in Ennis, Texas to O.D. and Charlcie Duke Wylie and passed away Dec. 3 in Fairfield at the age of 74. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Mrs. Rasco was married to her husband, John Fahey Rasco in Dallas in 1954.
Survivors include her husband, John Rasco of Dew; son, Greg Rasco of Dallas; daughter, Traci Lyn Tigue of Euless; grandchild, Kyle Lynch and a sister, Billie Ann Adiar of Grapevine.

Kenneth D. Sills Funeral Services Held Dec. 12
Kenneth D.Sills went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10, 2007. He was born on September 19, 1932, in Oletha, Texas to Annie and O.T. “Pig” Sills.
Kenneth was retired from Phibro Energy of Houston, Texas after 44 years of service. His hobbies consisted of attending his grandchildren’s football, soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball games. Kenneth received the Honorary Doctor of Humanities in 1969 from the Little League Program of Pasadena for his many years of volunteer coaching.
Married on December 21, 1951 in Thornton, Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Sills; children, Ricky Sills and wife, Mary of Old River, Dwayne Sills and wife, Gaylynn of Pasadena, Steve Sills and wife, Tami of Deer Park, Mike Sills and wife, Trish of Pasadena, D.J. Sills and Selina of Katy; grandchildren, Steven M., Coy, Cody, Tara, Jeffery, Scott, Sarah, Shane, Christen, Gip, Wiley, Christian, and Emily Sills; sister, Linda Lou Naff and husband, Frank of Lufkin.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena.
