Penny Ann Hudson Funeral Services Held September 17
Penny Ann Grubbs Hudson passed away suddenly on September 12, 2007 after an exciting, yet all too brief life.
She was born on June 5, 1952, the oldest of four siblings: Paul Grubbs, Mike Grubbs, and Amy Grubbs Thomas.
In 1970, she graduated with honors from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas. After briefly attending Stephen F. Austin University, she moved to Colorado. Shortly after, she became a flight attendant for ten years at United Airlines. She returned to the University of North Texas where she graduated Magna cum Laude with a degree in political science and journalism. After a brief career in journalism, she began work at Interstate Batteries in 1988 where she met the love of her life and future husband, Jim "Hut" Hudson.
Married on Christmas Day in 1989, she not only inherited another loving family, but Jim's three-year-old daughter, Alyssa, whose mom had passed away. After spending time raising Alyssa and volunteering with the local school district, along with being a CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate) mentor, she became Public Relations director at Cedar Hill ISD. Her vibrant and peppy attitude was contagious to all, and she truly never met a stranger. Her fabulous spirit and kindness will live far beyond any years on earth.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Hudson; daughter, Alyssa Hudson; father and mother, Bill and Ruby Grubbs; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Shannon Grubbs, brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Coleta Grubbs, sister and brother-in-law, Amy Thomas and John Ward; five nephews: Michael Grubbs, Todd Grubbs, Ian Grubbs, Spencer Thomas, and Trey Milner, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 16 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 17 at First Christian Church of Plano. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Sammie Jo McBay Funeral Services Held September 22
Humanistic Funeral Services (Without any reference to religion) for Sammie Jo McBay were held Saturday, September 22, 2007 in the Moore’s Angelic Chapel . Interment followed in the North Mexia Cemetery Addition of the Mexia Cemetery.
Mrs. McBay was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Burnett McBay in April of 2006; her parents and her grandmother
Survivors include: Her son, Robert B. McBay, II, wife, Shirley and grandson, Robert B, III, all of Closter, New Jersey; a devoted sister-in-law: Mrs. Willie McBay Benton, Mexia, Texas; a number of nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were: Ronald McBay, Jacob Miles, John Williams, John D. Jackson, Jr, John D. Jackson, II and Leonard Dancer

Doris P. Lancaster Funeral Services Held September 23
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Margaret Pyburn Lancaster, 89, of Teague were held on Sunday, September 23, 2007 in First United Methodist church in Teague. Rev. Jeff Powers officiated with interment following in the Greenwood Cemetery in Teague.
Mrs. Lancaster was born November 25, 1917 in Teague to pioneer Freestone County family Oscar Eugene and Edna Davis Pyburn and passed away on September 20, 2007 in Groesbeck.
She was known for her water color artistry, was a talented seamstress and avid flower gardener. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Teague.
She was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Lancaster is survived by her husband, Astol Thomas Lancaster of Teague; sons: Terry Lancaster of Teague, Bobby Lancaster and wife, Barbara of Glen Rose; daughters: Penny Carpenter and husband Don of Teague and Jill Harryman and husband Jimmy of Groesbeck; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Derek Lancaster, Ross Lancaster, Wayne Carpenter, Craig Carpenter, Bradley Harryman and Preston Volz.

Wayne H. Robinson Funeral Services Held September 24
Funeral services for Wayne Harvell Robinson, 80, of Houston were held on Monday, September 24, 2007 in Blair-Stubbs Chapel, Thornton. Rev. Tracy Sims officiated with interment following in Kosse Cemetery.
Mr. Robinson was born November 29, 1926 to Sina Blanche Johnson Robinson and William E. Robinson in Houston. He was the third child born to that union. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, one brother, John T. Robinson and a sister, Maebelle Robinson Wells.
Mr. Robinson was a master plumber for 50 years and did business as Robinson Plumbing Company in the Houston area. He retired in March of 2003. Around 1960 Wayne and his family became members of the Trinity Lutheran Church and his children received their education through the eighth grade at this church. He was a veteran of the U S Navy serving in World War II from January 1944 to January 1946.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary J. Cherry Robins.; sons: Wayne H. Robinson, Jr., Steven Shea Robinson and wife, Suzanne; daughters: Cherry Ann Phegley and husband Michael, and Elizabeth Renee Colwell and husband Danny; two grandsons: Adam Shea Robinson and wife, Katie and Ryan Daniel Colwell; two granddaughters: Kimberly Renee Colwell and Lacie Suzanne Robinson Deming and husband Kevin; two great-grandchildren: Lawson and Shea Robinson and Kodi Nicole Robinson.

Eleanor Riddle Funeral Services Held September 24
Funeral services for Eleanor Riddle, age 91, of Weatherford and formerly of Teague, were conducted September 24, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Teague. Officiating was Rev. Jeff Powers with interment in the Mexia cemetery.
Mrs. Riddle died September 21, 2007 in Weatherford. She was born in Coolidge on March 22, 1916 to John Q. Adams and Nellie Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 67 years, Rex Riddle. Also a daughter, Barbara Riddle Jordan and sisters, Hazel Smith, Lou Mathis, and Faye Jean Suttleworth and a brother, Roger Adams.
Mrs. Riddle lived in Teague for 50 years. She and her husband moved to Amarillo thirteen years ago. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Teague for fifty years. She loved her church and Sunday School as she loved the Lord. She was a housewife, a loving wife, mother and loved her grandchildren. They were the joy of her life. She loved people and visiting with everyone. She was loved by so many people.
Mrs. Riddle is survived by three children: Patsy Rieves and husband Don of Clear Lake, Rex A. Riddle and wife Marsha of Hammond, Louisiana, Katherine Curry and husband Bobby of Weatherford; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, John Nell Robinson of Pasadena; son-in-law Brown Jordan of Longview and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Jeff Rieves, Steve Rieves, Jay Jordan, Bryan Jordan, Adam Curry and Daniel Rieves.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Teague.

Graveside Services Held Sept. 24 for Glenda Ann Baker
Glenda Baker, 69, of Groesbeck passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at Limestone Medical Center.
Graveside services were held Monday, September 24 in Kosse City Cemetery with Bro. Richard Williams officiating.
Glenda was born August 2, 1938 in Ellis County, Texas to Denzle D. and Cornelia (Rice) Rose.
Glenda is survived by her husband James Baker of Groesbeck; daughter, Donna Baker of Dallas; two brothers, Robert Rose of Cleburne and Larry Rose of Wichita, KS; and mother Cornelia Rose of Cleburne.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father Denzle Rose.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ in Groesbeck, 203 S. Ellis, Groesbeck, TX 76642.

Services Pending for Lewis Harlan Bruce
Lewis Harlan Bruce, 82, of Tyler, formerly of Waco passed away at a Tyler hospital. He was born June 1, 1925 and passed away September 24, 2007.
Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Jewett. Funeral services are pending at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. in Waco.
Dakota Dan Allcorn Funeral Services Held September 21
Dakota Dan Allcorn, 20, of Coolidge, passed away September 18, 2007 from injuries sustained in an accident.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 21 at the First United Methodist Church in Coolidge with Reverend Bob Rainey and Reverend Lindsey Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial followed at Coolidge Cemetery.
Dakota was born May 7, 1987 in Waco to Wayne and Angie Allcorn. He graduated from Coolidge High School where he was an active member of FFA and the school football team. He was employed by Long Industries as a welder's assistant, member of Coolidge Volunteer Fire Department and a member of The First United Methodist Church of Coolidge.
Dakota is survived by his parents, Wayne and Angie Allcorn of Coolidge; brothers: Heath, Logan and Dalton Allcorn, all of Coolidge; close friends: Armondo Hernandez and Marcie Isbell of Coolidge; grandmother, Joyce Poole of Coolidge; aunts, Linda Lueke of Elm Mott, Debra Powell and husband Mike of Grove Hill, Alabama, Judy Jackson and husband Trice of Hubbard and Tammy Nash and husband, Aubie of Prairie Hill; cousins: Drew Jacobs of Coolidge, Sam Jackson of Hubbard, Tiffany Duke of Grove Hill, AL, Bradley and Michael Snelson, Sarah and Joshua Lueke, Christy Vincent and David Allcorn.
Pallbearers were Frank Brown, Isaac Serna, Joe Bob Dale, Jeffrey Nash, Reagan Jacobs and Lewis Isbell.
