- Reba Belle Hunter Funeral Services Held February 29
Reba Belle Stanford Hunter, age 92, of Kosse entered into rest on Monday, February 25, 2008. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 29 at the First Baptist Church of Kosse with the Rev. Darryl Hatley officiating. Burial followed in the Kosse Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunter was born September 28, 1915 in the Eureka Community north of Kosse to John Lee and Dona Elizabeth Moncrief Stanford. She worked as a postal clerk in the Kosse Post Office and also worked in Marlin for Wilson Brothers, the Style Shop and Jinny's as a retail sales clerk.
She lived most of her life in Texas but also lived in Kansas and California during World War II for short periods of time.
Mrs. Hunter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kosse and a member of The Order of Eastern Star.
She truly loved all of her family and friends, kept a happy home, was an accomplished seamstress and was the most kind and industrious lady the family has ever known.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dwight Hunter in 1966 and a son, Charles Dwight Hunter in 1975; two adult brothers, Howard Stanford and John Lewis Stanford and two infant brothers, Paul Stanford and Charles Stanford.
She is survived by son Randy Hunter and wife Nora of Kosse; grandsons: Andrew Hunter of Kosse and Richard Hunter and wife Shelly of Kemah, Texas; sisters-in-law: Bea Stanford of Houston, Raye Stanford of College Station; brother-in-law, Adrian Hunter of Houston; cousins: Louise Higgins of Marlin and Billie Jo Bennett of Thornton; a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were John Stanford, Mark Stanford, Mike Stellbauer, Greg Downes, Bubba Stone, John McCarver and Byron Cowart.
Honorary pallbearers were Adrian Hunter, Neal Watts and Wayne Sharpe.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Kosse, the Scottish Rite children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
Adams Funeral Home of Marlin was in charge of arrangements.

Tara M. Jones Funeral Services Held Dec. 1, 2007
Funeral services for Tara Michelle Jones were held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Lone Star Baptist Church in Groesbeck with Rev. N. Bedford, Pastor/Eulogist officiating. Burial followed at Lone Star Cemetery in Groesbeck.
Tara Michelle was born October 15, 1973 to the late Margaret M. Mitchell Jones and Henry E. Spivey.
She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 25, 2007 in the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck.
Michelle grew up in Groesbeck, where she attended Groesbeck public schools. She was baptized at an early age.
Michelle worked at Mexia State School for many years. She had just recently returned to work at Mexia State School.
Her favorite past-time was spending time with family (Aunt Bessie), cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Jones and Henry Spivey; brother, Ray Burns; aunts, Norma M. Jones, Minnie M. Tatum; uncles, Marcellous Mitchell, Aron Mitchell; grandparents, Aron and Minnie Mitchell and Doyle and Tom Spivey.
Those who will cherish her memory most include her son, Derrick Manquel Morgan; her brothers, Reginald Paul Jones of Groesbeck, Curtis E. Jones (Pam) of Waco, and Charles Lynn Jones (Chris) of Marseille, France; sisters, Pamela Ferguson of Marlin, Millie C. Merritt of Mexia and Helen Moss of Ft. Worth; aunts, Norma Mitchell Jones, Minnie Mitchell Tatum, Janie Mitchell Grear (Darvin) of Dallas, Evelyn E. Mitchell Thomas of Groesbeck, Raye Spivey and Sandra Spivey of Thornton; uncles, Aron Mitchell, Jr., Marcellous Mitchell, Sr., Wilmer Spivey, Rob Spivey, both of Thornton, and Eugene Spivey of Ft. Worth; grandparents, Aron Mitchell and Minnie M. Mitchell, and Tom and Doyle Spivey; special cousin, Damon L. Asberry; nephew, Simon Brown; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Joel Thomas, Kerry D. Asberry, Elgin O. Asberry, Kenneth Forge, Charlie Jones, Jr., Robert Spivey, Samuel Porter, Detrick Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers were cousins.

Larry Parsons Funeral Services Held March 4
Larry Fee Parsons, 65, of Eagle Lake/Marlin, Texas passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 in Rice Medical Center in Eagle Lake, Texas.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Marlin with Rev. Eric Moore officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetary in Marlin.
Larry Parsons was born January 1, 1943 in Marlin, Texas to Flew and Virginia Parsons. He married Vicky LaVerene Chalmers on August 1, 1964 in Marlin.
He was a member of Kiwanis in Vernon. He was also a member of the Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce in Eagle Lake. While in Marlin, Larry was a leader of his son’s Boy Scout den and troop, member of the Lions Club and a member and past president of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marlin.
Larry was dedicated to helping rural hospitals to gain better financial standing. He had 38 years of rural hospital service as an administrator in Marlin, Teague, Groesbeck, Vernon and Eagle Lake.
Larry was chairman of the RCH Protect Board of Directors. He was the first chairman and served for many years in that capacity. He was instrumental in the development of the RCH workers Compensation Cooperative. In addition he was a member of the TORCH Board of Directors from its earliest day and was a total supporter of the organization. His tenure was unusual as a rural hospital administrator for so many years.
He very much enjoyed fishing, especially with his children and grandson. He liked to hunt and had great fun on his annual hunting trips with his TORCH/RCH buddies.
He was preceded in death by both parents and grandparents, Will and Mittie Parsons as well as Vernon and Lois Bates.
Larry was a devoted and loving son, husband, and father. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Vicky Parsons of Eagle Lake/Marlin; son Yancy Michael Parsons and wife Julie of Round Rock; daughter Cinnamon Starr Barton of Austin; grandson Travis Michael Parsons of Round Rock; nephew Sam Chalmers of Angleton; niece Hanna Chalmers of Angleton; brother in law Eddie Chalmers and wife Frances of Angleton; aunts Myrna Lee Doughty of Dallas and Bonnie Parsons of Waco, and numerous cousins, friends and a host of colleagues.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the Salvation Army.
