Friday's Internet Edition, 08:52 AM, May 09, 2008. Lions Club ready for 10th Annual Groesbeck Car Show - The Groesbeck Lions Club has everything ready for its 10th annual Groesbeck Car Show. The Car Show will be held on this Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Groesbeck City Park. Awards for the show will be presented at 3:30 p.m. Proceeds from the Car Show will be used for various community projects of the Groesbeck Lions Club. These projects include helping students with vision problems, youth summer camp for children with diabetes or physical disabilities, scholarships for high school seniors, improving the City Park facilities, sponsoring blood drives, and other projects. As always, the Car Show will have some outstanding cars from various time periods. The Car Show also promises to have some good food as the Kosse Leo Club will be in charge of the concession stand. Prizes to those participating are as follows: *$150 cash to club with most participation. *T-shirts to 1st 100 entries. *Door prizes galore for participants. *$100 cash drawing for participants. *Dash plaques. Pre-registration fee is $20; fee on show day is $25.00. Include name, address and model and year of car. Check should be made payable to Groesbeck Lions Club. Sports (Foreign & Domestic) ‘84 & Up M. Original Unrestored (Car or Truck) Pre 80 N. Under Construction (Unfinished) O. Young Guns Class (Participants must be 21 & younger & be the registered owner) Power Washer Raffle The Groesbeck Lions Club is also sponsoring a raffle for a power washer. The drawing will be held on this Saturday during the Car Show. Tickets are one for $5.00 or five for $20.00 (need not be present to win). Tickets for the raffle may be purchased from any Lions Club member and also at the Car Show. Proceeds from the raffle also go the community projects of the Groesbeck Lions Club.
