“No justice; no peace”

Like many cities across the United States recently, Mexia held a protest Wednesday against racism and police brutality. An estimated 150- 180 people met at the Mexia Civic Center at 6 p.m., with leaders speaking on the steps of the Center and the main group gathering on the opposite side of McKinney.

Grand Jury Indictments

The following indictments were handed down by the Limestone County Grand Jury on May. 20. Those listed are not guilty unless and until a court finds otherwise. An indictment simply means there is enough evidence to warrant a trial.

Kosse PD Brett New promoted to sergeant

After a two and a halfhour executive session at the end of their regular June meeting, Kosse City Council voted unanimously to promote Officer Brett New to Sergeant of the Police Department and increase his salary to $38,500. Though Mayor Brooks Valls had no further comment to provide after the lengthy executive session regarding the Kosse Police Department, Sergeant New shared a few details about the opportunities that come with this promotion.

Students from all over the world – places like Germany, Spain, Italy, Taiwan, and Ukraine, to name a few have already received scholarships to study in the USA; all they need now is you!
