Groesbeck Woman’s Club News

The Groesbeck Study Club had its reassembly dinner at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 7pm.  All of the club members brought school supplies which will be given to the Elementary schools where they are needed.  The invocation was given by Suzie Waller.

It was decided that we would have our meal before the meeting.  The social committee presented us with a Pink themed evening.  All around the room were different shades of pink.  As we entered the main room we saw small tables with four chairs at each all around the room covered in pink tablecloths with pink and white place settings and in the center was a small clear bowl with a pink arrangement in it.   The main table was set much as were the little ones with a pink table cloth and in the center was a beautiful three-piece arrangement of clear glass bowls with huge white hydrangeas with pale pink roses in the center of each one.  All around this table were the salads that each member brought…such an assortment of delicious salads. And we had tea and water to drink along with ice cream dishes and floats and cookies for dessert.  The social committee is Mary Belle Leach, Sue Waller, Angela Roach, Annette Brannan, Martha Stone, and Suzie Waller.

We will again be selling nuts for our club fundraiser.   We will be selling the 1 lb bags of chopped pecans and pecan halves for $12.00 each, 1 lb bags of walnut pieces for $8.00 each, and this year we will be selling a 12 oz bag of a mix of raisins, cranberries and walnuts for $7.00 each.  Each member can be contacted to purchase any of these high quality items as all of them will be selling the nuts and mix.

The meeting was adjourned after a time of delightful fellowship.
