Goats hit a minor setback at Central Heights tournament

Since starting the season off 3-1, the Goats have fallen into a six-game losing skid on the hardwood and now sit at 3-7 overall.

“We have a young team,” Coach Chris Reid said. “Our roster is made up of - our seniors included, the whole roster - we only have one kid that has significant varsity playing experience. On that note, I feel like this is just what I would consider growing pains, a young team of inexperienced players coming together and trying to figure some things out, but each game we get a little bit better and hopefully by district we will be peaking at just the right time.”

Groesbeck entered last week with a 3-3 record before traveling to Hearne for another match-up against the Eagles, but the Goats found themselves losing this one 65-50. Groesbeck had a one-point lead early in the fourth quarter before the hometown Eagles rallied late to win by double digits.
