Thornton Senior News
The Thornton Senior Citizens met Thursday, August 17th at Central Baptist Church for lunch consisting of one half baked potato with trimmings, BBQ, pasta salad, red applesauce and that wonderful Apricot Nectar cake I heard Alma McCurry saying she was bringing for us today. Was it ever yummy, just like I said it would be. We appreciate her baking and sharing with us as always. Thanks goes to Joe Neason for our ice each week and the Central Baptist for letting us meet here each week.
Those enjoying the food and fellowship and special program were Raye Spivey, Sandra Spivey, "Apple Jack “Thompson, Merilyn Simpson, Ernestine Audd, Bobbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Neason, Sue Wood, Alta Hyden, Bob Walters, Joe Brown, Linda Taylor, Ann Brown, Linda Watson, Wayne Sharp, Helen Harvey, Alma McCurry, Sue Gambini, Wilma Lee, Jane Carpenter, Kay Alston, Fonetta Simmons, Janice Bilbrey, Mgr.'; and guest speaker Heather Flippin from South Limestone Hospital. Heather presented a very informative program on germs and antibiotics was well as showing a very interesting film.
We were glad to have Kay Alston back with us today since it had been quite a while since she had been with us. Also a new comer, Alta Hyden who used to be a Thorntonite but now lives at Lake Limestone. Thanks Sue Wood for bringing her today and we want these ladies to be a regular and we invite others to come join us. You might just like us.
