Groesbeck Study Club Meeting
The Groesbeck Study Club had its monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club at 6pm. The meeting was called to order by president, June Wietzikoski. She reminded us that we had to cancel the January meeting due to bad weather. She introduced the devotional for the evening which was presented by Linda Barker who spoke on Loves Phrases and that Real Queens fix each other’s crowns; meaning we do acts of service with humility, we embrace our fellow women and help them, and we see beyond ourselves and do not tear down others but build alliances. She reminded us that we are all a “daughter of the King, Jesus Christ”. John 13: 34. After a prayer, the meeting started.
The hostesses for the evening, Betty Smith, Nina Pool, Ginger Fritz, Pam McNutt, and Janet Carlile presented us with a Valentine’s Themed evening. The front door had a beautiful red bell heart on it and when you entered, Valentine’s was in the air. On the mantel were red hearts as well as the hearth, and on the buffet were the desserts – chocolate cake and a large strawberry shortcake parfae as well as more red heart accents. Red plates, napkins, cups and utensils along with a red and pink heart tablecloth were on the main table and in the center a tall crystal vase filled with the pastel candy hearts with sayings on them and some long stemmed pale pink silk roses.
