County agrees to restore two more prison dorms
A summary of Limestone County commissioners court’s Feb. 27 meeting
Limestone County commissioners have agreed to authorize the company running the Limestone County Detention Center to proceed with restoring two of the main buildings at the county-owned prison. The court made that decision at its Feb. 27 meeting and also approved a letter to the Federal Railroad Decision concerning the proposed high-speed railway, approved moving certain county inmates to McLennan County, approved a contract for electricity at a lower rate and made other decisions regarding financial matters and the quality of life in the county. Regarding the prison restoration, the court met in executive session toward the end of the meeting with top executives of LaSalle Corrections, which runs the prison and with attorney Herb Bristow, who handles prison matters for the county.
